Does Anybody Know - Part 2

e-mail sent May 7, 2002

Thanks for getting back to me, Allison.

I have to say that I'm somewhat puzzled as to why they are picking up "garbage and debris" from this site. As a layperson, my conception of "garbage and debris" is paper, plastic bags and other general street litter that might blow onto the property from the surrounding area. Considering the nature of this site and the proposed plans for it soon to become a construction site, surely, such a clean up is redundant?

Perhaps the perceived meaning of "garbage and debris" is different to the layperson than to those involved with contaminated industrial sites, but I am truly mystified, and somewhat suspicious of this action. I would therefore appreciate it if you could please clarify exactly what "garbage and debris" was removed.

Thank you for your continuing help.
