President's Report

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable summer.

Looking over some of the events during the summer, on June 16th we held Highland Creek Heritage Day.  This is a great annual community event for the whole family and it is always great to see the large turn out to support this celebration.  CCRA is pleased to provide a financial contribution to ensure this event is a success.

In July, the summer concert series featured another lineup of outstanding entertainment.  CCRA is also pleased to provide a financial contribution for these concerts.

None of these events could happen without the involvement and dedication of the residents of our community.  A big thank you to all who were involved in making these events a reality and to those who attended.

Over the summer one of the young people in our community Jake Forsyth (no relation to me) came forward to volunteer as the youth rep on the executive.  We are pleased to welcome Jake and look forward to his input on issues and events for the young people of our community.

A draft plan of subdivision has been approved for the remaining parcel of land on Port Union Rd south of Adams Park Gate that will allow the completion of Andora Cres. between Rozell and Adams Park Gate.  Lots and homes will be similar to those already completed in this area.

Some of you who have been down to the Village Common recently will have noticed that work is now complete on the remaining section of the Village Common on the west side of Port Union Road.  This completes the Village Common except for a future water service.   We are anticipating that work will get underway this fall on phase 2 of the Waterfront Trail from the GO Station to Rouge Beach.

Looking forward to events in October, our annual general meeting will be held on Thursday Oct 18th.  Please mark this date on your calendar and plan to attend.  The past 2 years we have been unable to conduct a formal meeting as we have not had a quorum.  I sincerely hope this does not happen again this year.  We need your input and support.
